Brief info

FSFM (Fursin Sharp File Manager) Software is a FREE, OPEN-SOURCE software which allows you to have a Windows/Unix-compatible file system on your Sharp Organizer. Now you can use your Organizer as a portable Disk, i.e. you can have directories and sub-directories and files (binary, text, etc) of any size (more then 1956 & 16384 bytes) on your Organizer. You may use a convenient shell (FSFM Client) for Windows to manage directories and files on your Organizer. You may use a FSFM Reader to view text/binary files of any size on your Organizer in different codings (dos European, windows western European, windows Cyrillic, dos Cyrillic, koi-8 Cyrillic) with bookmarking, Search function and different wrapping modes. Therefore you can use your Organizer as a book reader (you don't need any specific format, just save your file in text mode from Internet, Word, etc), or you can convert your presentations, databases (phone numbers, emails, etc) into text file of any size and view it during your trips for example... You can use FSFM Reader with search function as an unlimited size dictionary! Potentially, encryption of files can be supported, but due to various export restrictions and copyright issues I decided not to add it to the official release - sorry about that... You can also manage native Memos (in a more convenient way then using original programs). File System uses native Memos so it doesn't take any space needed for calendar/notes/todo, etc and is transparent. Binary transfer with speeds of up to 38400 baud is used making transfers 4-8 times faster then the original downloader!

Update

Considering that there is still some interest for Sharp Organizers, I made a small update:

Download FSFM_FNT2TXT - Converter for .fnt files to .txt and back. Update: 2004.Dec.18

This allows you to create/edit your own fonts for the FSFM Reader! (Requires Visual Basic 6 runtime library - you should have it if you already installed FSFM Client).

Download FONT6 - Romanian font. Update: 2004.Dec.18. This font is very small but you can edit it using the FSFM_FNT2TXT program.

Downloads

Download FSFM_SOFT.zip - Current release of the FSFM Software (zip file for Windows). Update: 2003.Aug.17

Contains: FSFM Client 1.5, FSFM Reader 1.4, FSFM Server 1.2, FSFM Eraser 1.2, FSFM Language Learner 1.0, All Fonts, 5 free dictionaries (english-french,-german,-italian,-portuguese,-spanish)

Download FSFM_SOFT_SOURCES.zip - All source codes of the FSFM Software (zip file for Windows).

Information

FSFM Client (Windows program): It's a GUI shell to copy and delete files and directories or native Memos on your Organizer. It communicates with FSFM Server which should be started on organizer first. Later you can view files with FSFM Reader. To use fonts with different codings you have to copy those fonts (.fnt extension) to the organizer into 'Sharp Memos' section.

FSFM Server (Organizer program): It's a server program which communicates with FSFM Client and creates/deletes files on your Organizer.

More information is here, History file is here

FSFM Reader (Organizer program): It's a convenient file viewer. It supports different coding (fonts should be copied into Organizer using FSFM Client before!), bookmarking, different wrapping modes, etc...

More information is here, History file is here

FSFM Eraser (Organizer program): If something goes wrong, this program allows you to delete all FSFM data files on your Organizer, so that you can start using it again...

More information is here, History file is here

FSFM Language Learner (Organizer program): This program allows you to learn words from the dictionaries that you can download above. It uses the same shell as FSFM Reader so that you could choose the dictionary that you want to learn. After that, program will randomly choose word and than show its translation.
